Historic houses and condominions in Tiburtino II, Rome
1999-2001
Rome
Client Condominion of Via Adalberto
Project team: Francesco Mirone
The re-arrangement of the condominial space and the restoration of one of the collective houses, whose large archway serves as the principal entrance to one of the four blocks of this historic structure, has taken the original characteristics of the architecture into account. Tiburtino II, built in the mid 1920s by IACP, developed the idea of large leafy courtyards on different levels with collective spaces for pedestrian walkways around the houses. The restoration has recovered the richness of the ornamental decorations of the houses while the reinstatement of the original space has brought back the children's playground to the centre of the garden
