The building on the edge of the natural environment is designed according to the seismic criteria, the ecology and energy saving. The functions hosted are articuladed in a dynamic and organic form, structured on the inside curve of the path that crosses the building from north to south. The spatial configuration is closely related to the choice of construction, septa-bearing masonry and wood roofs, in unlike orientation and at different heights of the sloping roofs. The architectural choices have tried to combine the technical and functional features of the building a valence plastic and expressive. The dynamism of the architectural volume, differentiated also in the orientation of sloping roofs and in their heights according to the functions of the different spaces, accompanied by a natural trend vision the surrounding space.
The expressive power of the volume qualifying the space in the margin area between natural and urbanized offshoots: the valley, the building projects and opens with the front open like a fan, while the curved structure of the volume of distribution, engages the concave facade and sloping entrance, highlighted by the opening of a large arch facing the main access road and facing the street Campagnanese. The opposite side is alive instead of volumes and different geometries intended to services. The outer surface is colored light ocher approached to the light gray of the fixtures. On the front towards the valley, roofs soar to form with septa side of the building a continuous form that emphasizes the use of wood cover. The sloping line of the curved facade of the main entrance follows the slope of the roof of the volume of the hall and ends at the edge of the open space in a small garden "inside".
The building covers a surface area of about 500 sq designed to accommodate the functions of a receptive structure quality: reception, bar, restaurant, kitchen, library services, office, rooms with bathrooms, utility rooms and kitchenette for guests. The carrying capacity is thirty-six beds in five bedrooms with en suite. The space of the the hall-lounge, connected to the kitchen, contains the functions of bar, lounge and restaurant, and is equipped with a large fireplace. The construction techniques with a mixed structure, load-bearing masonry and wood roofs have valence antiseismic and the whole building is designed according to the criteria of ecology and energy conservation. The traditional systems are integrated implants to renewable energy: solar thermal energy for heating and domestic hot water, photovoltaics for electricity, natural ventilation for cooling, the recovery and use of rainwater for 'watering plants and washing of exterior surfaces.
The internal layout is organized through the long curved space of the corridor, that from the entrance, through the hall and reaches the area of the rooms, office and other service areas. The interior of the building is characterized by the use of different colors, beige, green, ocher for the curve of the corridor. The floor is an concrete mixture in light gray. The roof and wooden beams are left exposed and the shape of the space and the materials are highlighted by the use of the daylight and artificial appropriate. Outside the pavement surrounding the building is made of stabilized soil ocher color. The rooms facing south-west, living room and bedrooms are equipped with glass surfaces that allow the immediate passage to the outer space and the enjoyment of the landscape. On the other side, instead, the kitchen and the adjoining warehouse, office, kitchenette for guest's use and the service areas, are externally accessible for servicing and loading and unloading of goods.
