Having once consolidated the walls, the ancient structure of the rooms has been left unaltered with the exception of the opening of an arch and the creation of a long series of stepped bookshelves between the two areas of the living room. The shelves and the corbels in massive oak reach the high windows which look onto the splendid view of a Trastevere courtyard. The curved wall in the corner of the first room conceals the bathroom while the exposed kitchen area is finished in polychrome majorica in accordance with Mediterranean tradition. The original ceiling with its chestnut beams has been restored and brought back to its original colour
