Refurbishing and furniture design of a dwelling in San Lorenzo quarter
2005
Rome
Private client
The space inside the small apartment in the historic quarter of San Lorenzo has been re-organised while leaving unaltered the nineteenth century structure of the two vaulted rooms. In the first we have created an exposed kitchen area with the use of polychrome grains. In the second a large arch separates the sleeping quarters from the studio. The use of Indian red and violet on the walls of the entrance hall draws the eye towards the terrace. The beech wood used for the flooring throughout the entire house contrasts with the high ceilings which, in their turn, have been painted milk white.
